Giving Tuesday was November 29th. We made a special request this year. Sadly, this need originated out of the national mental health crisis among children.
Elmcrest is opening a Children’s Mental Health Respite Program on campus after the first of the year. We will operate two residences for youth ages 5 to 18. These will be safe and supportive homes on the Elmcrest campus for children who have inflicted harm to themselves, considered suicide or experienced mental health crises.
Our goal for Giving Tuesday was to outfit two recreation rooms to enhance these home-like settings. We succeeded in raising more than half our goal on Giving Tuesday. One room done!
