Earlier this year, Maureen and Tom Annal donated hundreds of books to Elmcrest. The Annals lost both their daughters, Maryella, then age 11, and Elizabeth, then 9, in a Thruway accident in 2020. Since that time, these parents, (also injured) have lived by the motto “do the next right thing.”
To keep the memory of their daughters alive, the Annals have founded “Annal’s Angels Inc., to foster the girls’ love of books, and create scholarships for other children. In early September, they hosted a 5K fun run and one of our Elmcrest students participated, handing out water and cheering runners on.
Helping an organization such as this, compliments Elmcrest’s mission of cultivating values and positive character traits in our residents. “Paying it forward” was a special way to thank an organization that has shown such generosity and kindness to Elmcrest.
