Julia M. Kondratowicz made Elmcrest and the world a better place. She came to Elmcrest in 1996 as a social worker at our Skeele Valley group home. In her 17 years with Elmcrest, she exhibited uncommon skill, an extraordinary capacity for work, and devotion to children that inspired all who knew her. She died of cancer in 2013.
In her honor, the Julia M. Kondratowicz Scholarship Fund is awarded to high school graduates who have participated in one of Elmcrest’s programs and who wish to further their education at a two-year, four-year, or vocational institution of higher learning. Scholarship winners are eligible for awards of up to $5,000 annually for up to four years.
