This past weekend, 25 young Elmcrest residents worked side by side with staff to clean up the campus grounds. Ms. Webb and Mr. Hubbard led the crews who raked, picked up branches, leaves, trash, and spread mulch for landscapes and topsoil, seed and hay for the lawn.
Both staff day shifts worked from 8:30 AM to 4:30 in the afternoon alongside the kids. Lawn bags set for recycling numbered well over 100 when all the cleaning and sprucing up was complete. Hard work and fresh air kept everyone laughing and enjoying this project. None of the kids minded getting their hands dirty and most were reluctant to see the day end.
A day to give back to the earth. And a day that brought pride for all of their accomplishments.
