Several children from the Elmcrest residences mingled with the animals this summer. Rosamond Gifford Zoo offered large and small, animals, fish, and fowl for the children to visit. New favorites this year were two new baby cape porcupines, two more Humboldt penguin chicks and the arrival of Bjorn the Andrean bear. At Ft. Ricky game farm, greeting the animals was “up close and personal,” too, thanks to the petting zoo. The children had lots of fun roaming the animal kingdom.
