Elmcrest youth gets ready to sled

More snow was welcome for winter break fun at Elmcrest. This perfect sledding weather sent these boys and girls to their favorite hill behind the school. The children in temporary residences at Elmcrest attend this K through 12 grade school on campus. Daily routines are designed to help them achieve educational goals, cultivate personal values, and develop coping skills. Staff members work with their families on an ongoing basis, and try wherever possible, to reunite them with their children. Counseling, support systems, and communication with children and their caregivers are built into the Elmcrest mission. Recreational activities such as a day on the snow hill allow them to enjoy childhood activities despite challenging circumstances.

At the end of this sledding day? Smores! What else?
