Elmcrest Children’s Center is excited to begin recruiting volunteers for H.E.A.T. 2027 (Highly Empowered Amazing Talent Theater Program), and we’re inviting members of our community to be part of this one-of-a-kind experience.

H.E.A.T. is an inspiring initiative that empowers youth through the performing arts and creative expression. The program provides young people with a platform to build confidence, develop leadership skills, discover their talents, and share their voices both on stage and behind the scenes.

Building on Last Year’s Success

Last year, H.E.A.T. brought youth together to create an original feature, “The Heart of Elmcrest.” From developing the story and writing scenes to acting, filming, costume design, videography, and editing, participants collaborated every step of the way to bring their vision to life.

The project culminated in a special premiere event where guests enjoyed an authentic four-course Italian dinner before experiencing the world premiere of the youth-created film. More than a movie, the project demonstrated the incredible creativity, resilience, and potential of the young people we serve.

H.E.A.T. is more than theater, it’s about elevating youth voices, celebrating creativity, and fostering confidence, collaboration, and leadership through the power of storytelling.

What’s New for H.E.A.T. 2027?

This year, H.E.A.T. is expanding into a Digital & Live Talent Showcase, giving youth even more opportunities to express themselves through:

  • Music, singing, and rap
  • Dance performances
  • Poetry and spoken word
  • Short films and video production
  • Visual art
  • Magic
  • Stand-up comedy
  • Photography and digital media
  • Other creative talents

No previous experience is required. Whether a young person wants to perform, create artwork, write, film, edit videos, or work behind the scenes, H.E.A.T. offers a welcoming environment where every talent is valued.

We’re Looking for Community Volunteers

We’re seeking passionate volunteers to help mentor and inspire the next generation. If you have experience—or simply a passion, for any of the following, we’d love to hear from you:

  • Music or vocal performance
  • Dance or choreography
  • Visual arts or painting
  • Poetry or creative writing
  • Photography or filmmaking
  • Video editing or media production
  • Pottery or crafts
  • Theater or stage production
  • Event planning
  • Public speaking or mentoring

Whether you can volunteer regularly or lend your expertise for a single workshop, your time and talents can make a meaningful difference in a young person’s life.
