Elmcrest Proposes Supportive Housing for Young Parents

Elmcrest Children’s Center and Christopher Community, Inc. are partnering to tackle the issue of poverty and housing vulnerability of young parents in Syracuse. The proposed project will involve;

  • Building 50 units of safe and affordable housing on the Elmcrest property
  • Providing supportive services to the parents to assist them transition to financial independence
  • Providing early education opportunity to the children

The target population will be young parents age 18-25 years of age with pre-school age children. The proposal involves the construction of two and three bedroom apartments.
