Elmcrest's Diagnostic program accepts referrals for preadolescent and adolescent children who need emergency placement and/or a diagnostic evaluation. Youth who receive a diagnostic evaluation undergo psychological and psychiatric evaluations, as well as assessments in environment, recreation, sexual behavior risk, victim trauma and substance abuse. These assessments may be included in the final medical and educational report, as they provide insight into a child’s behavior, diagnostic impressions and treatment and placement recommendations.
