Services for Children in Foster Care

"We must be willing to let go of the life that we have planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us." —Joseph Campbell

Disrupting a child’s home life is very difficult and frightening, but sometimes necessary, in order to provide them with the life they deserve. Elmcrests’ mission is to provide both residential and community-based programs for children and families, as well as offer a safe and temporary environment for children who have been removed from their home. Through referrals from County departments of social services, Elmcrest ensures that each child in care receives the appropriate medical, psychological, and psychiatric services they need. With over 15 different programs, Elmcrest works to make sure that each child’s transition to and through these programs create as little disruption as possible to their home, school and community, while working towards the goal of implementing a permanency plan that allows for them to be returned home to their families, or another permanent planned living arrangement.
