Back to School

Over 35 backpacks with school supplies were donated to Elmcrest children for the school year.

The boys and girls in Elmcrest's community-based programs are ready to greet the new school year with backpacks full of necessary supplies. Book bags, notebooks, folders, post-it notes, pens, pencils, crayons, markers, scissors, glue, tissues, snacks, and sanitizing wipes are packed and ready for school.

These are children in Elmcrest’s Home and Community Based Services (HCBS), Children and Family Treatment and Support Services (CFTSS), and Care Management. These programs offer support to children, youth, and families that enable children to remain at home and in the community. Services are individualized to meet their health, developmental, and/or behavioral needs.

Kelly Ocampo, Elmcrest Director of HCBS and Danelle Price, Supervisor of CFTSS, led the back-to-school drive to gather items needed to prepare the children for the upcoming 2021-2022 school year. Thanks to staff in these programs and generous community donors, 37 bags are filled and ready for distribution. One bag even contains sensory toys and personal care items for a medically fragile child.

Kelly and Danelle send out a special thanks to all those who donated time, money, and effort to make this drive a success. And many young faces are smiling now that they have supplies they need for back to school.
